Air compressor for welding air

The quality of welding air for welding plastics is precisely regulated by the DVS .

Welding air must be absolutely grease-free, dust-free and dry.

Compressed air from central supply systems does not meet these strict requirements without considerable technical and financial effort.

External air compressors are always the better and more cost-effective solution.

For example:

In addition to simple portable air compressors for connecting up to 2 hot air welding units with or without air flow meters, we also supply side channel blowers in workshop design for several welding units or for connecting a welding extruder.

For larger systems , we have grease-free high-pressure blowers in our range, which are particularly noise-reduced and maintenance-free.

Our medium-pressure blowers, which are specially designed for use with air heaters, are characterized by high performance in a small design.

The power grading has been specially tailored to the respective needs.
This also enables a long service life with low operating costs.

Outstanding efficiency, favorable noise characteristics and a stable and streamlined housing design, which is also maintenance-free and oil-free, round off the overall picture.

On customer request, the blowers are also available with frequency converters for speed control.

Further information on compressed air for welding plastics:

In the plastics processing industry, compressed air is often used for various welding techniques.
The compressed air can fulfill several functions, depending on the specific welding process being used.

  • Hot air welding:
In some plastic welding techniques, such as hot air welding, compressed air is used to direct heated air onto the plastic surfaces to be joined. The heated air melts the plastics and a solid weld seam is created after cooling.
  • Ultrasonic welding:
In this method, compressed air is used to operate an ultrasonic transducer that generates vibrations. These vibrations cause friction and heating of the plastic surfaces, which leads to their fusion and the creation of a weld seam.
  • Extrusion welding:
In some cases, compressed air is used to control the extrusion process. Molten plastic material is pressed out of a nozzle and shaped with compressed air to produce a welded joint.

Features:

  • Precise control:
Compressed air systems for welding plastics often require precise control to ensure the required pressure and optimum air composition.
  • Adaptability:
The compressed air source should be adaptable to different welding techniques and plastic materials.
  • Reliability:
A reliable compressed air system is crucial to ensure consistent results in the welding process.
  • Security functions:
Depending on the specific requirements of the welding application, safety functions such as pressure regulators and safety valves may be installed.

It is important to note that the exact type of compressed air source and its functions depend heavily on the specific welding technology and the requirements of the plastic welding process.
