AKU®-DUR PVC-C ROUND BARS and FULL BARS

In addition to its higher chemical resistance than PVC-U, PVC-C has high rigidity, strength and hardness at elevated continuous service temperatures of up to 85°C and very high self-extinguishing properties due to LOL of approx. 65%.

PVC-C round rods are high-quality plastic rods made from chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVC-C). This material is characterized by its excellent chemical resistance, high temperature resistance and good mechanical properties.

The round bars are formed into uniform diameters in a special manufacturing process, making them ideal for a wide range of applications.

The chemical resistance of PVC-C round bars allows them to be used in aggressive environments where other materials could fail. They are resistant to a wide range of chemicals such as acids, bases, solvents and many aggressive media.

This makes them particularly suitable for applications in the chemical industry, electroplating, food processing and other demanding environments.

In addition, PVC-C round bars are thermally stable and can withstand temperatures of up to 100°C, which makes them suitable for use in applications with elevated temperatures. Their low weight and good machinability make them easy to handle and install in various applications.

The smooth surface of the PVC-C round bars facilitates cleaning and maintenance and makes them hygienic and easy to care for. They are available in various diameters and lengths to meet the requirements of different applications. From the construction of chemical exhaust systems to the manufacture of tanks and pipe systems, PVC-C round bars offer a reliable solution for a wide range of industrial applications.

Important note on the use of AKU®-DUR PVC-C rods:

The REACH Regulation Annex XVII No. 20 para. 5 states that products containing more than 0.1 percent by weight of dibutyltin compounds (DPT) may not be placed on the market.

However, the above-mentioned marketing ban under REACH only concerns the supply of end products in the consumer goods sector (“to the general public”) and is therefore not applicable to supplies of semi-finished products. We are therefore not directly affected by the ban.

If you, as a user, purchase this product from us, you must observe the following aspects:
Products manufactured from AKU®-DUR PVC-C may not be marketed in the EU if these products exceed the aforementioned limit and are intended to be made available to the general public (i.e., the consumer goods sector).
Please note that comparable prohibitions may also exist in other jurisdictions outside the EU.

Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, or PVC-C, is a special form of chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), which is created by chlorinating PVC.

Properties of PVC-C:

  • Chemical resistance:
PVC-C is characterized by excellent chemical resistance, especially against acids, bases, and many chemicals. This feature makes it ideal for use in demanding industrial environments.
  • Temperature resistance:
PVC-C can withstand higher temperatures than conventional PVC (polyvinyl chloride). It remains more stable at higher temperatures (compared to PVC), which makes it suitable for applications in hot water pipes and industrial processes.
  • Fire resistance:
PVC-C is flame-retardant and meets high fire protection requirements. This makes it attractive for use in safety-critical applications.
  • Electrical insulation:
PVC-C is a good insulator and is used in the electrical industry for the production of electrical components.
  • Mechanical strength:
PVC-C exhibits good mechanical strength and is therefore suitable for applications where strength and durability are important.
  • Good processability:
PVC-C is easy to process and can be shaped by various methods such as extrusion, injection molding, and compression molding.

Applications of PVC-C:

PVC-C is used in various industries for specific applications, including:

  • Chemical industry:
Piping, tanks, and fittings due to its chemical resistance.
  • Construction industry:
Hot water pipes, industrial pipelines, ventilation systems, and other building elements.
  • Electrical industry:
Insulators, electrical housings, and other components where good electrical insulation is required.
  • Automotive industry:
Applications where increased temperature resistance and chemical resistance are required.

Due to its specific properties, PVC-C is a high-performance material in various technical applications, especially in areas that place high demands on chemical resistance and temperature resistance.
